The end of 2021 marks a halfway point for Project Icebreaker. As we continue to work as a team throughout this design process, we must be open to changes in our design schedule in the future.
This our current prototype as of this post!

We have completed the basic structure of the drivetrain. To finish the drivetrain subsystem, a belly pan, along with assigned spaces for electrical equipment, will be installed onto the drivetrain. As you can see in the image, the robot is obviously unfinished. We expected that this would be our progress before winter break, so our team is confident that there are no current issues with time for the creation of our robot.
What's Next?
Our next course of action will be similar to our beginning portion of the build process. We will continue ordering parts for the spinner (outputs acetate) and reservoir (holds the acetate) subsystem. Once we receive those parts, its as simple as assembling the parts, as instructed by our CAD models. For programming, we will continue to build the code similarly to the build schedule. Lastly, almost all building and coding time will be thoroughly documented and or implemented into our project documentary.
As 2021 starts up, we feel that our team is confident we will be able to show off a completely functioning robot!
